Included in the basic rate
Rate / EP / PVT % fields are entered as percentages (e.g. type 4.5 for 4.5%). Leave "Max SI" blank for an open-ended top band. "incl." checked means the cost is bundled into the basic rate; unchecked means the amount typed is charged as a separate optional add-on when selected on the quote form.
Compare Across Insurers
Comparison shows the base annual premium (rate × sum insured, or the minimum premium, whichever is higher) including Excess Protector & PVT where these are bundled into the insurer's rate. Levies (PHCF 0.25% + Training Levy 0.20%) and Kshs 40 stamp duty apply on top, as on the formal quote.
Rates compiled from Imoth Insurance Brokers' 2026/2027 insurer rate cards & binder terms (Pioneer, Kenya Orient, Monarch, CIC, Definite, Directline, APA, Britam). Rates are indicative and subject to each insurer's underwriting confirmation, satisfactory loss ratio, and standard policy terms.
